The organization Democratic Alternative was launched in October 1999, and now has members and groups in Norway and Sweden. It publishes the magazine Demokrati, and its Frihetlig Press publishes books and pamphlets in the Scandinavian languages. Democratic Alternative organizes seminars, study groups, conferences, lecture tours and political gatherings. The Social Ecology Project was located in Burlington, Vermont, and was for many years present as an independent voice for social ecology and libertarian municipalism. The group is no longer active, but the issues of Left Green Perspectives – its theoretical newsletter – is fortunately still available. (Click this link – The website is in English.)
The Institute for Social Ecology was established in 1974, and is located in Plainfield, Vermont. The ISE is an independent institution of higher education dedicated to the study of social ecology, and although they have temporarily lost their premises, they still arrange educational programs, seminars, lecture tours and political conferences. The group Työryhmä kommunalismin edistämiseksi are associated to the Scandinavian organization Democratic Alternative, but act wholly independent, mainly with translations and study groups. (Contact them by writing a mail.)
In London there is a Social Ecology Group, being acitve with study groups and the spreading of ideas. They have a blog here, and can be contacted by email.
Eutopia is a Greek Journal devoted to libertarian and ecological theory. They are based in Thessaloniki and Athens (Visit the English section of their webpage).
